Wilderness First Responder

If you work or recreate in the outdoors or in other austere environments where access to medical care is delayed or communication is unreliable, our 10 day Wilderness First Responder course is for you! It is the industry standard for professional guides, trip leaders, search and rescue team members, outdoor recreationists, and international travelers.
Upon completion, you will be able to conduct a thorough physical exam, obtain a patient history, assess vital signs, provide emergency care in the wilderness, and make crucial evacuation decisions.

Dates: July 7-16, 2023
Location: Community School, 1 Community School Dr, Sun Valley, ID 83353
The class will run from 8 am to 5 pm each day with 1 hour for lunch around noon-1pm. We will also have evening sessions on Days 3 and 7. We will take Day 6 off.
Travel, Meals, and Lodging
Community School is in Sun Valley, Idaho just south of the resort. Please park in the lot, class will be upstairs in the Middle School building.
Meals and Lodging
There is not meals and lodging package available for this course. Students are required to arrange all lodging and food.
Many food and lodging options are available in Sun Valley and Ketchum, and public land camping is available. The best camping is dispersed camping out Trail Creek Road and Corral Creek.
