Why Thailand?

Because your WFR doesn’t have to feel like work.  Surprisingly, once you factor in airfare, accommodations, meals, and tuition, training in Thailand can cost the same—or even less—than staying stateside.

So go ahead: trade local lights for ocean breezes, trade takeout for Thai street food, and turn your certification into a trip you’ll never forget. If you can learn wilderness medicine anywhere… why wouldn’t you choose Thailand?

Itinerary
  • 29 October, 2 pm: Meet near BKK Airport and travel by private bus 2.5 hours to Rayong, Thailand.

  • 30 October: WFR Course Starts

  • 3 November: Travel in the evening to Bangkok

  • 4 November: Earliest Recommended International Departure

NOLS Wilderness Medicine Is the world leader in Wilderness Medicine, offering courses across the globe, and we are excited to offer a Wilderness First Responder course in Thailand!

If you work or recreate in the outdoors or in other austere environments where access to medical care is delayed or communication is unreliable, our 10-day Wilderness First Responder course is for you! It is the industry standard for professional guides, trip leaders, search and rescue team members, outdoor recreationists, and international travelers.

Upon completion, you will be able to conduct a thorough physical exam, obtain a patient history, assess vital signs, provide emergency care in the wilderness, and make crucial evacuation decisions.
